Join us for the hosting of Room in the Inn at Journey Church as we partner with Roof Above, who seeks to unite the community to end homelessness, one life at a time.

POSITION DETAILS
Welcome/Prayer Cards
- Prepare 8 cards with encouraging words/Scripture/prayer for our guests to be left on their beds.
Driver - Pick Up (4:30-5:45pm)
- Will drive church van to Roof Above Day Services Center (945 College St. Charlotte) to pick up 8-10 guests.
Greeter (5:45-6:15pm)
- Greet guests upon arrival & prepare name badges.
Dinner Coordinator (6-6:30pm)
- Coordinates & plans meals with dinner preparers.
Dinner Preparers (6-6:30pm)
- Prepare food ahead of time, as determined by Dinner Coordinator, to be brought in and ready to serve. Please prepare enough for 20 servings.
Dinner Servers & Clean Up (6:15-7:30pm)
- Serve guests food/drinks & help with cleanup after dinner.
Dine with Guests (6:15-7:30pm)
- Share a meal with our guests and provide fellowship.
Activity/Service Provider (7:15-8:15pm)
- This is for anyone who would like to provide their services to our guests. Examples include: simple hair cuts, manicures, games, music (acoustic guitars/singing).
Prepare Nightly Snacks for Guests (7:15-7:30pm)
- Examples: popcorn, snack mix, granola bar, fruit
Laundry for Guests (7:30-9:30pm)
- Wash, dry, fold guests' personal laundry: Huntersville Coin Laundry or launder at home.
Overnight Host (8pm-7:15am)
- Need at least one host to be a male.
Breakfast Preparers & Servers (7:15-8am)
- Please prepare 10-12 servings. Examples of breakfast items: breakfast casserole, bagels, eggs, pancakes, sausage.
Break Down Inn (7:45-8:25am)
- Break down and store cots; put away tables & chairs.
Pickup Bed Linens to be Laundered (8:15-8:25am)
- Huntersville coin Laundry or launder at home. Will need to bring linens back to Journey when cleaned.
Driver - Drop Off (8:15-9:30am)
- Will drive church van to Transit Center (310 E. Trade St., Charlotte) or to Roof Above Day Services Center (945 N. College St.) to drop off 8-10 guests
